the terrain is so open here and so much to see.  if you ever have the opportunity to drive all the way to circle, alaska you should take it!

this patch of trees caught my eye and just needed to pull over to take a snap.

as did this little arrangement

nearly every year there are forest fires that go through this area and clean up the old forest growth.  this fresh grass is testament to what a forest fire can produce.

lastly we came across the ptarmigan in the middle of the road just outside of circle, alaska and decided that it was time to get out of the car once again to take a picture.
