on day two of our little adventure we came across what must have been the largest grouping of sandhill cranes i have ever seen. they were flying in formation and heading south for the winter. there must have been over 1000 easily in flight at the same time.

lastly we stopped to do some off-roading in our honda civic (oh yeah!) and found a little lake that was (supposedly) stocked by the alaska dept. of fish and game (according to the new cool book we had just bought). cheri didn’t catch anything.
