A First

Neither my dad nor I had ever flown with the door off of the plane.  Because of this we had no idea what to expect.  After landing at the BLM strip in the Tanana Flats we took off the door (3 screws and a pin) and hid it in the woods.  We then  packed everything into the back and into pockets for fear that the wind would be so strong that it would suck everything out.

We buckled up, shoulder harness and all, and took off.

Fortunately the wind wasn’t bad at all!  Go figure.  It was a bit noisier which is to be expected but the wind was nothing to contend with.

More to come!
