Prop blur is cool. There, I said it. The problem is that it can be difficult to achieve with small, single engine aircraft in any meaningful way. This is because their props simply aren’t moving fast enough. We were traveling at around 90 knots and I was shooting at 1/180 to get the the shot below. The prop blur in this image is approximately half (at best) of what it needs to be in order to get a full rotation blur. This is easier said than done and I have more respect now for people who make amazing air to air shots!
More to come!
